Full Version: Problem with context searches

Hello, Yves.

I asked this question a while ago over at ProZ, but I didn't get any replies Sad

As I'm working on yet another long document and experiencing the same problem, I copy here the same question with the hopes that you perhaps can tell me how to deal with it.

Here it goes:

=====
I'm using Wordfast version 5.50z with Word 2003 and my TM has about 13,000 units.

When I have a TU open and I do a context search on a term, then close the separate window that opens with the context search results, and return to my document:

1) The Word window no longer shows me the point where my open TU is, but the cursor has gone all the way back to the beginning of my file. I have to scroll all the way down to my open TU in order to continue translating or reviewing, which is annoying because a) it is a rather big file and b) I cannot use the Alt+Home shortcut because a TU is open.

2) When I press Alt+Down to close that unit and continue my translation, Word just freezes. It stays frozen until I have to do Ctrl+Alt+Del to force it to close.

3) I lose the last units I had worked on after the last time I saved my document.

This doesn't happen every time, there are times when I can close the context search results window and return to my document window, and the cursor is right there in my open TU.

And whenever I try to use the Alt+Home shortcut, I get an error message that says I don't have a certain DLL installed, and then prompts me to install the VLTM module.

Could you please tell me how to work around this?  Could the fact that my TM is too large be the reason I'm having this problem?  Do I need to use this VLTM module then?  How do I use it?

Merci beaucoup !!!
Hi Maria,

I believe the best would be to contact sales@wordfast.net and copy-paste your questions, they're made for the technical hotline.

I think that simply upgrading to the current version of Wordfast should clear these problems. Upgrading is free, it's the same procedure as the very first installation.

Cheers,
Yves

I upgraded to the latest version (unless I'm mistaken and the version I quoted above [5.50z] is not the latest... Wink I have to check) two months or so ago, when I renewed my license.  But I keep having the same problem Sad
