The problem.

A project based in a TM (not own) with his correspondent analysis, and price based in matches.

Very often, the matches are not right, there are mistakes, bad alignments, etc.

How can I make a comparison between the analysis results and the real work made ?

It is a macro or something like that for this, so I can say to my client, the price is not correct cause that, and that.
To make a "post analysis" based in the real translated segments and to show to the client exactly what is wrong and how much should it be.
I hope you understand what I mean ;-) mon anglais c'est presque si mauvais comment mon français

Hi Fernando,

pricing a translation job is a difficult thing when the job is not simply bare text. Documents with a lot of figures or numbers are better counted with a translation tool (which does not consider numbers as "word", while Ms-Word does).

There is no macro for checking word count - or one has to be made for each and every project.

If he problem is acute, I would advise buying a dedicated Word count program for translators (search the internet for "practicount") or check out
http://www.practiline.com/

but then again, perhaps your client does not have that tool, and explaining how you bill may be difficult...

Cheers,
Yves

I suppose I have not explain what I mean correctly.

I t is not a problem of counting.

What I mean is a price based in matches (100%, 70-99%, etc.) from a TM it is not mine.

How to compare this theoretic values with the real made work (bad segments, bad alignments in TM, etc.)

Surely the best answer could be : Do not take such a job ;-)

But by "4 zeros" clients I have no alternative. I take it or I take it...

Thanks

Best regards

Fernando
