My viewpoint: try as many as you can - they all offer some demo mode and if installing looks scary, grab an equipped colleague and ask to use his/her tool. Wordfast is, IMO, good for Ms-Word documents, and also if your agency sends Trados-prepared RTF documents (tagged documents). You have a lot of freedom to set up your tool (some would prefer the security of a tool that gives less choices, but then again, less possibilities for doing it wrong. You have to choose, it's a principle at work in all life).
